The Billboard Gallery invites local Hudson Valley artists living in Putnam, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Greene, Columbia, Albany, and Rensselaer counties to submit an image/s to be displayed at Billboard Gallery in Poughkeepsie NY. The jurors will review the work through a blind submissions process.
The artwork chosen to be on displayed on a 6’ (foot) by 12’ (foot) billboard. The exhibition dates will be from March 27th – April 30. The artist and artwork will be featured on the Billboard Gallery website, Facebook and Instagram pages.
The Billboard Gallery is an alternative exhibition space for artists established by Abigail Gunnels and supported by The Engaged Pluralism Initiative (EPI) at Vassar College. The gallery focuses on Hudson Valley artists. This location/billboard attempts to blur the boundary between the Vassar campus and the city of Poughkeepsie. Colleges often have, or are perceived to have, an “invisible fence” surrounding them, creating a separation between the institution and the city/town where they exist. By creating this alternative space to showcase artists, The Billboard Gallery engages with Vassar and Poughkeepsie communities, and the larger Hudson Valley region by showcasing local artists’ work outside of a traditional gallery setting.
Eligibility:
Artist (professional, mid-career, or emerging) living in Putnam, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Greene, Columbia, Albany, and Rensselaer County in New York. Any two-dimension works will be considered, this includes but not limited to painting, drawings, photographs, printmaking, mixed media, etc.
Each artist may submit up to five (5) works for consideration and the Billboard Gallery will exhibit one to two images created by the selected artist.

You must include an artist statement with your images. Please send the files as JPEGS no larger than 5MB, resolution of 72dpi and 1200 pixels on the longest side. Higher resolution image/s will be request if selected for the billboard.
Please label your files: LastName_FirstName_ImageTitle
